Hey Guys,
We arrived yesterday and I am quite happy to be here. We were fortunate to barely miss some hefty traffic starting the very motorway exit after our own. After arriving the hotel and settling our bags, we proceeded on a mission to seek some food. On our way we met up with Papa Jack and Rick (Paralada). These guys impressed me to be very jovial and Champions at life.
So began our city tour of Stoke walking all of the back streets hunting for a Chinese, all while circumventing a local bike racing event. When the 1 Chinese buffet in the area was located, we were heartbroken to learn that it did not open until at least 2 hours. A few more twists and turns brought us to the best takaway in the universe. I will find out the name for you guys later.
We ordered spicy fish, we ordered spicy chicken wings, chicken tikka, chips, lamb curry, and it was all fantastic food. I was delighted that some fresh coriander was sprinkled on top of my lamb curry and the chicken wings invoked enough emotion to make me cry (or was it the spice?). It goes to show you sometimes fine experiences are stumbled across by accident.
Afterwards was a little venture to the hotel bar, where Sean and I demonstrated some near pro level snooker skills. Thereafter we met up with Malc who came just in time to join us for a trek to the casino. We had some nibbles and drinks and partook in dabbled in the 3 card poker table games and a bit of roulette for myself.
Later arrived the lovely Deirdre (robertbh) and Vinnie with whom we shared some late night drinks and additional spicy chicken wings as yet (not as good as the takeway's wings from earlier but I am looking forward to tasting all of Stoke's wing offerings).
Alltogether a good night, I am looking forward to the rest of the weekend.
