Hey Panda - finally found a copy of Raw Sharks Texts.  Finding it very strange but seductive.  Will post up when I've finished it.

Hi Malc,  I'll leave this one for Wkd to update you on as being our resident expert she has much more knowledge.  I think Wkd has had two different Kindles.  Good luck.

Hi Malc Wink

Lynda is correct, I now proudly own two Kindles. One being the 1st edition original Kindle reader and the other a Kindle Fire HD which I upgraded to a few months ago and is, as you say, not far off an Ipad/Tablet. And I love it!

I have no experience of other EReaders but I have been so pleased with the Kindle brand that I wouldn't look anywhere else if I were to be buying again.

I would suggest the Kindle Paperwhite, it is probably the best EReader out there and has the advantage of being directly linked to Amazon and the deals it offers it's Kindle owners. But if you choose otherwise be sure it has it's own built in back light. It makes a big difference.

Full details here.........

Hope that helps.

And while I am here I just wanted to let any followers of my little Book Club know that although I have gone quiet the last few months, I fully intend to blow the dust and cobwebs off this thread very soon.

I  have several books lined up to review. I am just waiting for the time and the inclination to synchronise. Life has a habit of throwing a spanner in the works recently, but should level out in the not too distant future.

As far as my reading goes, right now, I am knee deep in mud in the WW1 trenches at the Battle of the Somme, with true accounts from the 'Tommys' who were there . Thought provoking and emotional stuff.....

I am reading a book from Carlos Ruiz Zafon. His most famous book is " The shadow of the wind". I have read two more : Marina and the angels game( I hope the englisch titles are correct.)
Each book  takes place in Barcelona with figures that are connected in some way. They are kind of mysterious, a little historical and full of suspense. The way of writing is great.Spaniards simply can write(in most cases)
So, if you are looking for good books, check them out
