Ok playing a lot more live these days (more for a break from the online grind than anything some nites).
Anyway feel I need a poker nickname. A nickname is better earned/given by others than myself, so hoping some of you can suggest sumthing for me.
Guess some background info might help: - Used to (profitably) grind 888's for SnG's (mostly $20-$100 6 max turbo's and $20-$30 20man 4max nitros), still do grind these but am focusing much more on MTT's now and doing very well in them. - Play for my local Gaelic football team - 888 Screen-name = weesika - Have lovely wife and 2 gorgeous boys - Defo a very social and friendly guy - hope most people would agree. - Found of a few beers - people from birthday bash last year will defo agree - Ex-Accountant with PwC - left it to play poker and work at poker affiliation - Full name Daryl Thomas McAleenan - Age 26 - Fav hand= ??? Duno really, guess I never really have one, every hand has the right time and place! Suppose I like AA :) - Fav player= prob Kid Poker himself (Negreanu), but Benny Spindler is up there now too. -Strongest poker attribute - mmm duno, prob mentality, focus, temperment etc. Guess I am very good with numbers from my accountancy background and this obviously helps in poker, like to think I can make some sick reads and sick folds, duno what nick-names that will lead to but interested to hear what you guys come up with.
Need as original nickname's as possible please. Whatever you think of fire it down - thanks guys.
Have include a photo or 2 as well (but anyone on my facebook etc will be able to see many more photos):

I had actually wrote in a clause in my post that you wudn't be aloud to comment on that incident, but I guess its as original as I may get!!!
Shouldn't the idea be to make a name for yourself playing live tournaments! instead of giving yourself a name to play live tournaments?
If your successful live the moniker will soon follow
Yeah mate, TBH I thought that was best, but with the kids and stuff I can't commit to touring live events, I do fit in the odd big ones - but playing live at least once every week.
Out of my live game I have been called the following (without asking): all names are Daryl "XXX" McAleenan obviously
"Numbers" "Reads" "funky line" "final tabler" (local live game is about 50 people and Ive reached Final Table 12 times out of 16 weeks) "the studier" "the ruthless gentleman" (supposedly im a gentleman but ruthless on poker table on Tues's) "soul reader" "soul rider" (must confirm with the guy what exactly he meant by this one cos I only ever heard of soul reader)
Don't know what to do TBH, guess with one of my poker goals to play more live, I assumed I needed a live nickname to go along with it.
PS Wiggy I am successful live as you know mate (just not on the big stage yet), but I only play that local live game on a Tues and occassional other big events (like SuperStack, Superpoker Event, International Poker Open etc) - I very much doubt I will earn a nickname out of them events no matter how successful I am, because its different sets of people and they don't really know me.
I have already "earned" a few nicknames from my live game on a Tues, I think them guys are best placed to "Christian" me with a poke nickname.
But a lot of you guys have played with me, live at birthday bash/IPO/Super Stack and obviously moreso online. I remember David Doc (L67C) done a similar thread and the nickname "baby faced assassin" was suggessted which I thought was a great nickname for him (you need to see his face to understand).
I just think a nickname is sometimes best given at more "foundation" levels before you go onto the big stage??? Maybe I am getting too hung up on having a nickname.
