Talking to ken the other night I mentioned a film that I had watched a couple of times ages ago as something reminded me of it. It is called I enjoyed it but it only grossed $7,400,000 which I guess is quite poor as the top film for 1995 Toy Story grossed $191,796,233.
Can you think of any films that you really liked that didn't do well?

Dead Man is a 1995 American Western film written and directed by Jim Jarmusch. It stars Johnny Depp, Gary Farmer, Billy Bob Thornton, Iggy Pop, Crispin Glover, John Hurt, Michael Wincott, Lance Henriksen, and Robert Mitchum (in his final role). The film, dubbed a "Psychedelic Western" by its director,[1] includes twisted elements of the Western genre. The film is shot entirely in black-and-white. Neil Young composed the guitar seeped soundtrack with portions he improvised while watching the movie footage. Some consider it the ultimate postmodern Western,

Not one I have seen but it only grossed $3,216,970 (USA) (29 November 1998) and the top film Saving Private Ryan grossed $216,540,909.
"A paranoid mathematician searches for a key number that will unlock the universal patterns found in nature." looks like something I might like.

I have watched this one Dead Man , and I have to say it was not what I expected ( either because it was western or because Johnny Depp was in it ) , This film showed a side of Depp I have not seen in his other roles . Some spots were hard to follow but as a whole I did enjoy this movie . A western , no not really ; was more a backdrop which when and if you see the movie , you will understand why that time (era if you will ) fits perfectly .

I recommend Survive Style 5+. Its a japanese movie. The only european actor is Vinnie Joneswho plays a killer. Very funny movie with some action ,too, that combines,I think 4 or 5 stories. Especially the colors in it are great. A must see for people who love extraordinary movies.

Powwow Highway (1989)
Storyline: Social realism regarding struggles of reservation-dwelling Native Americans in the North Central states of the US. Main character is an introspective and lovable person in a process of seeking pride and identity through tradtional and mystical means of gathering power. His high school friend, who is a Vietnam War Veteran, is exerting power as a highly principled social activist, using a modern rational materialist adversarial model of progress.
I know it sounds quite tragic, but i think its a good movie.
"Pi", great movie. Another wonderful Movie by Darren Aronofsky is "The Fountain". As are most of Jarmuschs Movies. Has anyone seen "Ghost Dog". Thats another one i´d recommend.
