Well after a restless nights sleep, worrying over my customer from yesterday and my impending hospital appointment later  I had to drag myself out of bed, having ignored the alarm for at least 20 minutes.  i always turn up early for work, bit sad really as my employer does not pay over time!Probably like most today, you may be lucky to get flex, which never happens!

I spent the first two hours trying to sort out my customers application where he had changed his mind about adding his wife to the mortgage.  Two hours of wasted previous paperwork, which had to be all redone, taking a further two hours of my time.

We have a new Branch manager, a bit too bouncy and eager, wanting to make an impression as its a new branch for him.  Full of "great ideas"  but no real idea of what any ones job actually is.  Our place is definitely about who you know, and it seemsd to be the crapier at your job you are, the further you go!  Or if you are good at talking a good line then hey presto you are in!

Me, well I am far too out spoken and def not a yes person, my old boss used to say if I could manage to keep my mouth shut I would go far!  Although I certainly havent done too badly in my career. Assistant Bank manager and now Mortgage Advisor,

Hospital appointment went well, and need a minor operation in feb, so will be off work for two weeks.

Now sat at my computer waiting for my youngest daughter to get ready to go out.  We play darts on a tuesday for a local team, so its the only night where I don't play poker.  I  used to be a really good player years ago, lots of trophies and then gave it up about 10 years ago, due to divorce and having got a bit bored with it all.

It's not like riding a bike, I was shocked to find when I started back I could hardly hit the board!  Really I go just for the social side and for the food!!!!!!

Well thats sort of the start of my Journal and will fill you in whether I lost or won later. x

Lucky you, and what a nice boss.  I work on average 7 hours per week unpaid, that's the prob when only I can do my job in my place of work! Most nights last year the cleaner let me out, I am sure that is a major breach of security! AND I don't get commission either!  Have had loads of job offers but stay where I am due to final salary pension, which will allow me to retire early,  YIPEEEE

Journal  Day 2

Our team lost at darts last night, and I lost my own game 2 1, due to missing the double, and my opponent managing to hit hers second throw.  I think the double has become smaller since I played 10 years ago! LOL

Better day at work today managed to catch up almost!  Had a customer who was telling me about her husband, who is on the panel investigating the house of Commons sex ring.  Can't say too much on here, but I certainly have plenty of interesting conversations with my customers when they buy their homes.  A psychiatric Nurse once told me I should go into counselling, as I was extremely easy to talk to, and he had found himself telling me things he didn't usually discuss.

Back to the doctors this evening and now on high Blood pressure tablets. As I don't fit into the smoker, heavy drinker or overweight category my Gp has no explanations other than try changing my lifestyle.  Guess that means more exercise and eating a little healthier. Or at least eating 3 times a day instead of porridge an apple and then something "quick" in the evening.

As I don't work tomorrow (part timer)  Thought I would skip the poker this evening and play in the morning, perhaps a small tournament.  Will keep you updated to how the playing goes tomorrow.....

It's odd because my journal will prob be mostly about everything other than poker! But if Wiggys idea works and this is social, hopefully I'm not boring too many.  High blood pressure hopefully is short term. Got daughters 21st coming up in a few months so fitting that in with installing new bathroom and operation and work can't see stress reducing. Trouble is I also care about my customers and service so dont switch off at home. Thanks for reading

Think Slim is right sounds like your blood pressure is lifestyle related, perhaps you could investigate doing a yoga class or using a gym gets you away from the normal thread of life and can be really relaxing.

You could not get any more ordinary than the stuff in my journal so I would not worry about your content mine has too be much more boring.

Stay well.

When you first start out doing this it's hard to understand what's best to write about, it get's easier later, none of the stories in any of the journals are boring to me! I'm getting a look at life from another perspective

I used to play darts on a Monday, cribbage on a Wednesday and pool on a Thursday, I was a very good crib player an above average pool player and darts was a reason to go to the pub Wink

I've given them all up now and spend most of my time in front of this pc, but that's a necessity due to my eventual goal
I'm too old to die young
