We appreciate your feedback and have spent a lot of time looking over all your points and more prior to your post and the release of the new leagues. I shall try my best to answer your points below.
The start will be 8-15 this time around as after moving the leagues to my888 I found that we had more players when we started after 8pm having tried 7-30 games previously. 8pm seems to be the start of most players poker days I guess.
We have looked back at all previously suggested and used points systems for games on my888 and found that the closest finishes are provided by the present system as there were several players in with a shout of top 3 places even on the last game. If some players who had scored well played more myself included chances are it would have been even closer at the top.
Scoring best 12 from 20 gives the best chance to most allowing for holidays etc.
Jeanie it would be unfair to stop anyone entering a game just because they had not played in it before, I do understand your frustration regarding this though but the games are for all members at all times and it may be best to try not to get involved in hands with such players if you need to make a few extra points that week. I agree that players sitting out and gaining points does seem wrong but they add to the prize pool and sometimes it is players who did intend to play but something came up. Obviously this would be more noticeable in the later weeks but again the best 12 from 20 scoring helps keep this to a minimum.
Chris.

Chris, it isnt that I mind people joining the league in the last game or so, it is the way they play that bugs me, just going "All-in" every hand, because they only in for the prize money, it is so frustrating, and I could name you someone who does it. Jeanie

Jeanie
The new format will make it easier to not get involved with any such players if you choose not to.
