Tonight I was subjected to the usual abuse which originally stopped me playing the meet the members freeroll, why?

Because somebody thought it was a good idea to call a raise with rubbish, then check a flop he had monstered and only call a 3/4 pot bet before the turn trying to trap, and on the turn after raising and leading out on the flop with a 3/4 pot bet I hit the nuts flush, he checks yet again and I bet half the pot which he calls yet again

The river is a 9 and he shoves all in, what am I supposed to fear now? surely he's not calling pre flop with 3 2? if he has any kind of hand why would he not re raise one of my raises? I'm in for a lot of chips with the nuts flush and the only hand I can fear is 3 9 and why would he call a pre flop raise with 39?

No he didn't he called with 3 4 off suit, he hit trips on the flop and checked (which isn't a bad move) but he only called my c bet (which isn't great with 2 suited cards on the board) he then checked with trips when the board offeres the flush and yet again only calls the 1/2 pot bet, with a 9 on the river he decides this is the time to push as he has the player who raised pre flop and has led out both betting rounds beat, and now he's upset that he lost?

No doubt he will be on the freeroll forum later telling people how he was bad beat by somebody calling to the river and hitting his flush, his awful play will never be a factor and because of that he feels he is right to give me abuse?

I was actually going to post the chat here but I don't need to, he's rather pathetic really and another member was actualy at the table with me, if I see this guy in any other community game I will send what I have to the right people, I'm sick of people who only find us to play a freeroll then get abusive when they find out they're not as good as they think

Meet the new members? I'd rather not every time I do I get abuse or ignored, yes we do get some great new members coming through, but every month this game is advertised on freeroll sites and people join after the cut off date then spam the forums trying to get points for a game they can't enter, and when you have to suffer abuse from tw*ts you need to ask is it worth it?

This guy will never post here he just wanted a free ride, good ridance to bad rubbish is what I say, may you grow up one day

Had to make a minor alteration there Wiggy. ;)

Wiggy, the abuse seems worse now than I have ever known it, it happens if you win a hand and it happens if you lose a hand, and it is not limited to what sort of player one is, it is really apalling, I can give as good as I get, but really I dont want to sink that low, for no better reason, than winning a hand???  What sort of people are they? That think nothing of abusing people, and Im talking personal sexual insults, from a complete stranger!
And then they get rewarded with freeroll games and free christmas games, not gonna learn any different are they?   You just have to disable their chat, save that for forum games, when we have  good fun and banter.
   Ohh and  take their chips!!!!

The only way we can get rid of these types of abusive players is to report them with screenshots. Repeating offenders will be banned eventually, but the only way 888 know what is going on is if we tell them. So please report and keep reporting to support@888poker.com it does make a difference. If you want them gone then you have to do something about it, they won't go away if you don't.

This was a community game not a main site game, I believe the community is responsible for it's games and who can play them

The meet the new members game is allways the same, people sitting out or being abusive, they're just here because it's a freebie they have no interest in the community and they prove it time after time, these people need to be denied the passwords for our games, if they can't even be bothered to sit in during a freeroll or just get abusive when they do why do we need them? we promote our games as a fun friendly enviroment to play poker and these people have no place here

If it is a community game, then yes, we can also deal with it but first a moderator has to be made aware and given the information and screeshots, (if it is after the fact). During a game we can come along take screenshots and give warnings ourselves. But if we are not aware of who, what and when then there is nothing we can do either and these players continue to get away with it.

Why were these abusive players not highlighted to a moderator at the time? I was in the game myself, a chat box message to me and I would have been along to deal with it.

Complaining afterwards is not going to make the situation any better, actively doing something about it is. We all want these games to be a fun and friendly experience but that is not always going to be the case, in these type of games, when there are so many new players who are not aware of community games etiquette. But they can be made aware and warned, and if they continue, banned from the games. So please in future, if you are in a community game and feel that someone is getting out of hand, contact a moderator, there is always one of us around, and let us deal with it.

I've stopped following this advice wkd. I've sent a number of examples through to support recently (my loose play often attracts abuse, and while I can smile at most things, the line is sometimes crossed), and have had absolutely no response. The offending (and offensive) players are still at large and still spouting.

Well at least we now know what to do in community games if people are abusive

Firstly check the game lobby to see if a moderator is playing, if not log into here (which you will have to do anyway if you don't know whothe moderators are) and send a pm to a moderator asking them to come and take screen shots of the abuse for you, because there's no point moaning about it afterwards

I have the chat from last night and it's not overly abusive, he's not swearing, maybe in my current frame of mind I over reacted, and by taking screen shots I am able to make that decision this morning in a much calmer manner

What supprises me is the advice that was given, I was playing poker, I didn't want to go on a moderator hunt to get one of them to do something I am quite capable of doing myself and reporting after I finish, it should be my decision when I report it

Ok Wiggy, I am not going to take the bait this time, I was only trying to help by giving people another option.
