Played cash game 2p/4p 6 max
Folded round to cut off very tight player raise to 10 cent, on button calls i flat call in bb with Ah Qs him having position over me & tight was my reason for calling. Flop comes 10h jc kd all check. Turn 7d I check cut off checks, button raises 24p into pot of 31p i min raise dont want to lose my customer cut off folds, button calls. River 10d I check expecting him to fire other bet he shoves with $4.97 i snap call $3.56. He shows 6d 3d arhh felt crushed!
Could i have played that better?
Thanks for reading

with a possible flush draw after the turn , myself I would have bet the turn pot size .Better to take it down now then run into what happened to you.... if they call and then shove on that river dependent on player I could easily fold . but the turn is where you have to block that possible flush from taking life . I am a relative beginner to playing good poker and I used to lke just that play with suited cards so I know what he did bet on the a good size bet on the turn would have got him off unless he's a total donk ..in which case note him and you will know next time

Oops I bet now that you would have been happy taking it down on the turn. Even if you did want to keep him in? you must make him pay for it before the river. Then, him seeing the river is a mistake by him regardless of the outcome, but as it was, you forced him to see the river as it was almost a free card and folding to that bet would have been certified insanity..

losing the customer or losing the hand. am assuming you called his river bet as you thought he was representing the flush or might have landed a set / 2 pairs on the river but then I believe you said he was a tight player.

If your opponent had any idea about equity? he would have known that on the flop he had very little, like less than 5% against unimproved highish cards and even on the turn he had about 20%. Any large bet should have folded him and also might have allowed you to comortably fold the river if he didnt fold on your turn bet..
It's never easy is it?
