I agree that using re-buys in freerolls is pointless, what I don't understand is how you call a game a freeroll then put re-buys and add on in the game, I thought a freeroll was free to all who entered if people can re-buy it's not free is it? surely it's a micro re-buy add-on tournament?

You often see people on here commenting that they entered a game never intending to re-buy or add-on, I find it strange that people would enter a game to put themselves at a diss-advantage by not taking the extra chips on offer, I also find it strange that some people multi re-buy beyond the amount that's on offer for the minimum cash, that's just a quick way to decimate your bankroll, there's no point taking 5 re-buys and an add-on when the minimum cash is 4 buy ins, you just put yourself under pressure to cash bigger, the average minimum cash in these games is 4-5 buy ins, it seems strange to risk 4-5 buy ins in the hope of at least breaking even

I have a simple strategy with very few rules to confuse the issue, when I join a re-buy game from the beginning I sit down and click re-buy, I will always take the re-buy immediately for one simple reason "it is worth 100 BB's" every blind level that goes by devalues that re-buy.

I will have a set amount of re-buys per game and this will include an add on, if I use my set amount of re-buys (excluding the add-on) then I am out of the game, I am also out of the game if the re-buy equalls less than 15BB's, this to me is push or fold territory which makes re-buying pointless

I always add-on unless the add-on will leave me with less than 25BB'ss, this is the same reasoning as not adding-on for less than 15BB's, once the blinds go up (usually within 5 minutes of the break) you are in push or fold territory, why pay for that pleasure? as long as the add-on equalls more than a 25BB stack I will add on regardles of my chipstack (even as chip leader) you have worked hard for your position in the tournament; so why let people buy past you so that you have to do it all again? budget for the add-on and use it if you have the opportunity

I also like the 1 re-buy 1 add-on tournaments, if for instance it's a $5 game with a $5 re-buy and a $5 add-on I approach it as a $15 game because that's what I'm prepared to pay to ensure I don't give others an advantage over me, and I have an advantage over those who never re-buy or add-on, if I bust or am so short stacked that adding on is pointless I save $5

after reading this and adding my thoughts , I thought again about what wiggy was saying and so I went to play a 99 cent $3000.00 GNT frenzy (unlimited rebuy and 3 add-ons allowed ) well I got to tell you wiggy was spot on . I did not get any rebuys in this game as I was just curious to see what happens .. Okay so the game is on at the end of registration a total of 776 players out of a max of 900 joined to play the game ... I made it without a rebuy with 4 minutes left till add-ons could be bought .. thats ok today ... next time a little different . Out of the 776 players there was a total of 2770 rebuys ... wow .. and also 1125 add-ons ... another wow .. I now know , that if I were to play this again , I would get 2 rebuys right off the hop , and if I got there 3 add-ons for a total of $5.00  a good investment from the look of things , first place paid $966.89 and 60 places paid .. so at the bottom of the pay 50th till 60th spots paid $16.81 so 3x plus the $5.00 invested . Looking at it this way rebuys are not so bad if the winnings are good to play for . I can not wait till BR permits me to follow this plan ... soon soon ... lol
