Ok so I've got one for you from todays morning league game, i'm playing on the app so using old fashioned notes (My Brain! Very Dangerous!!) I have the player UTG as being aggressive and playing a little bit left field

Going to play this out one step at time and soak up your thoughts and then post my thoughts at the end, so lets get this party started

We are on the button with AJ suited facing an UTG raise, what are we doing what are we thinking our opponent is on?

Not knowing the other player, so from looking at it with no knowledge of his game I would proberbly flat call to see the flop as him being aggressive could make it he has a wide range.

Also it can be so easy to get married to AJ sooted and with aced_u  maybe likely to defend his blind with an isolation shove, or ashleydylan shoving back at your 3 bet and you don't give your self much fold equitiy after a 3 bet.
So its a shove or flat call, preferably a flat call, and rethink after the flop, plus if there's a shove and call after its a fold.

i would call only, the raise is high enough to get the blinds out(if not holding a very reasonable hand that would reraise again) even if you only call instead of reraising to isolate. AJs is a nice starting hand but far from being the nuts. i think what is worth more in this case is your position. in my opinion thats worth more than trying to to get the original raiser out of the hand by reraising(oki, maybe what just happened to me is still in my mind, in bb, holding AK i got a raiser in mid position, i reraise and he calls, flop is J 10 8 rainbow, i bet big to get rid of him, he calls, turn is a 4 and i give up the hand if not hiting one of my draws, i check as does he, river 6, checkcheck, he shows 64s with no draw on flop :(  ... maybe this hand would be worth a discussion aswell lol). anyways, i call and look what flop will come and decide after what will happen.

OK so lets move this on to the flop. I called pre-flop as has been said.

I now faced the below

well you flatted with aj . so what flop did you want to see if not one like that?

if you call this bet you know your facing an all in on the turn..... so get it in now and hope he doesn't have a bigger ace or a set

850 , that is a pot size bet ...  my guess is he wants to rep a big ace or protect a smaller pair .. ppQ's he would make a value bet or any other set for that matter . he would want to keep you in and get as much as he can ... he may have A rag or 2 pair here and wants u off the flush draw ... I believe you are ahead here if he  does not hold 2 pair call if you want more chips on the turn raise now and he may call but will not give you too much on the later streets ... or if he holds 2 pair he will shove over the top of your raise and you are behind. fold now or call , and you know your hand is too strong to fold and too weak to call a re-raise if you raise so call

PS: I believe a re-raise is what you needed to do pre-flop , but thats gone, so now call and let him keep bullying with his chip stack ( to me this looks like a typical early stage freeroll gambit)

looks like a good value bet to me ... but I don't buy the story ,you can't call here so it is all in or fold ... since this story looks fishy I would go all in his bets do not add up to have hit a flush or str8 , I still believe he has Arag (6-9 ) or small pockets

Well Venom I'm impressed you have pretty much called it as I played it. I also though my A was ahead of his A so shoved it in and got the call and was surpised to see no A.

So I'm not the only one who would have played this hand this way, but ultimately was this a good play or a bad play.

Obviously I currently think I played this well as I got paid, or did I just get lucky this time, what are your thoughts?
