I have often wondered which is best and what the benifits of one choice or the other would be ? Am interested to hear your views about this , do you show if yes then why , if no then why . Am I missing out because I do not show ?

Do not show any hand unless u having a laugh with forum friends and want to either have a laugh or help some1 . In normal games I do not want to give any1 any info on my game , people wright notes about your hands and how u play them , u want people guessing on what u have . Dont help them suss u out . keep it to yourself

if i bluff earlie in a game & they fold i like to show them, also if i got a monster & its earlie i like to show aswell, then they dont no what to do ... is he bluffing? or does he have a hand? but late into a game usually no show & if im in a high stakes game deff no show. i like to show a bluff because it gets them thinking & might call you when u got a hand, it works for me. so yes show a table a bluff once then dont show again, i use it as a stratergy.

Never give free information
It's better to let your opponents think you bluffed than to show them you bluffed, if you start showing your opponents that you bluffed you are taking away your edge because they know you are capable of bluffing
Poker is a game of information and decisions, giving free information makes decisions easier and gives players who actually take notice of what's going on information to put in their notes on you
Every time you show your hand when you don't have to you give up to 8 people information the were not entitled to, showing is vanity, mucking is sanity!
I'm too old to die young
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

Only ever show your cards if your using it for your own advantage. theres a time and a place to show but only when its to your advantage (wich is very rare)

Hi Nite..... I may well be wrong ...... but im going to run against the grain on this one.....
The standard rule is never show you cards if you dont have too..... but it can be used to your advantage..... I was once playing in Las Vegas .... and i was playing in a $30 tourny .... early on in the game i was delt 72os .... and i played like i had AA i put a good solid raise and got one caller ..... i missed the flop but still bet out ..... he called ....the turn came rag and i shoved all in ..... the guy folded i showed my 72os. Once that hand was over i went tight as a rock ..... and only played solid hands and good hits on the flop .... i was called down every time ..... so advertiseing can work..... oh i went on to win the tourny.
I also find it helpful when you get to the final table ..... and you are the small to med stack .... but you have the chip leader on your left ...... if you get an all in hand and your pushing the chip leader maybe hes in the bb .... its often worth showing him that you had a hand as if the chip leader takes a dislike to you he can make your life hell ..... i have found that help full.
Final one is if you get 3 or 4 good pushing hands on the run .... i often show the 4th one to show that im not raiseing with rubish ...... this works in my favor so that i can later raise with a mid range hand and still have them thinking and give me respect.
in the end unless your playing with mates showing is a tool in your box but you can use it to tell a story ... but once the story is told then you must do the oppersite ...... i have found it can work for ya but most will say dont show and i woud agree if you dont know what your doing.... its up to you ....... if you not sure then just dont show
Andy
If your going to call .... make sure you have a big pair !

Yep, pretty much on the pay to view side on this. If you want to see put your chips in.
However, I am more genereous in forum games if I remember to untick the box, if not I will likely say if asked.
As Andy and others say it can be used to your advantage. If I have had a few good hands and been raising a lot and it may look like I'm stealing all the time in a non forum game I will possibly show to a short stack sometimes so he doesn't think I'm bullying. Honesty pays then.

There are only 2 times I would show
1. Forum Games 2. As Andy says when you have hit 3-4 times in a row it can help to show the last one if you want to maintain a tighter table image
I like it when people show me a bluff as it tells me that I made a mistake I need to learn from, and it also tells me lots more information about them mainly that it is unlikely the next one is a bluff so be very careful....and it all goes in the notes.
