Hi guys,

I was getting really excited when i saw that 888 was launching a KO series! Good job!
So far only the main event is visable and you can already qualify for it.. which makes sense cause you'll need 20.000 people to even make the guarantee. Sealed

So my first question is: Do you really expect to get 20.000 people on a $55 buyin tournament?
Anyway i hope you do.. having a progressive KO with 20.000 people can be sooo much fun when you get a little deeper and bounties become crazy high and... hold on I started to drool.
Okay, so second question: Is the main event even a KO event? I mean, i qualified for it, but when i look at the lobby, it's registered as a normal tournament, not a Knock-Out!
Can anyone explain why that is? Are they bringing a new format or something?
Love to hear it.

As there is no link in the game lobby I have asked for an explanation of the game.

Sean is OOO until Monday on his jollies so I do not expect an answer until after then and will update as soon as I know.

This is what I got back.

888poker is finally introducing Progressive Knockout tournaments which have been extremely popular in the online poker world for the past 2 years or so.

We will be running a small series of PKO tournaments (called “God Of The Arena”) between 11-14 of October.

The Main Event of the series will be a $55 PKO tournament with $1M GTD.

After the series is over there will be daily/weekly PKO tournaments added to our MTT schedule

Hey Cryptic,

Did they really say "finally introducing" SealedSealed
Good to know there are more PKO tournaments coming though!
They do need to fix the main event still as it's not a PKO yet.
See ya'll there.

I really really really really really hope they are actually going to be progressive KO's and not this current "KO" nonsense that's been going on.
Like tomorow's KO events in the XL Eclipse series, less than 1/3rd of the buy-in goes to the "bounty". And you just stack all those little bounties, but the value of each never increases.
If this were a progressive KO it would have been fine.. but this is just not what you call a bounty tournament. The bounty is too insignificant and as it never increases it's just a waste of the prizepool the way i see it.

If you want to have a bounty tournament, make half of the buyin go to the bounty (just like you have in your daily games)
If you want to have a knockout tournament, make 1/3 or 1/4 of the buyin go to the bounty and make it a progressive one.
