Given that 888 do not operate in the U.S.A. the $$ is probably the fairest currency for them to use. Although, this is more likely to be incidental rather than being down to aforethought. What is not fair, is that the Term ‘exchange rate’ and ‘comparable’ which are loosely used, do not make the discrepancy between the officially published exchange rate and that used by 888, transparent enough. 888 are allowed to use any exchange rate they wish or levy any charge/fee they feel like.
Also makes it impossible for us to quantify, as processing times vary, different currencies are used, Exchange rates fluctuate and third parties can be used.
Impossible for us, but should it be for 888? Most, will incorrectly believe that Exchange rates indicate some sort of Internationally signed treaty that anyone who uses this term must maintain the Officially published rate of exchange at any given time. I may be wrong, but believe they do not. Although, I find it difficult to swallow, when the term is used to convey certain assurances. However, if 888 were transparent enough, we would not have to trial different methods of withdrawing and depositing, as we now are. We would be able to make an informed decision based on clear and precise facts. We charge $ / % to deposit in GBP AUD EUR We charge $ / % to withdraw Tbh this was the least of my concerns when I first joined. I was too worried that other players could see my cards….lol…….now know it was just bad play by me Goblin, If I tried to use my Travel Card to deposit and withdraw money in the U.K. they would lock me up. Please, Please do not ask me to contact Support@888, I believe this info should be public. If it is, please delete this post and direct me to it.

A couple of quick question Is it better to have your deposit currency and withdrawal currency at the same?
I have recently withdrawn some dollars (my deposit method is GBP), and was paid at $1.00=0.62110427 GBP but if I deposit it costs me $1.00=0.6600 GBP I basically lost £41 with the conversion that 888 charged.. and if I redeposit the same amount it would cost me £43 more....so I changed my deposit and withdrawal currency to the same ie USD, and my bank will then convert at the banks rates at the time of my transaction...
question have I done the right thing and does anyone else use this method?

I have changed mine to USD
All the charges I pay now are the standard bank one of £1.25
$100.00, RATE 1.5549, CHARGE 1.25 = £67.33 in my bank for $100 withdrawal.
Post, then make another post and then post even more.

I have had mine in USD to USD (via Moneybookers) for over a year now and have never had a problem with the currency conversion, it takes very little time to transfer to. ;)

My Money bookers is in GBP, do they convert the $'s to sterling if I decide to withdraw to my moneybookers account instead of my card

I'm sorry I don't know the answers to these questions. I only know how my own method of wihdrawal works which is fine for me. My Moneybookers is in USD Malc. I can then transfer to my bank in Euro's or I can take it out directly through any ATM machine with my Moneybookers Debit card.
Daryl is the person who helped me set it up and explained the value of having both my 888 account and Moneybookers set for USD. Pm him and I am sure he will be happy to go through all the in's and out's with you. ;)
