The team tournaments are a good concept but seem to be underused, they are aimed at the low stakes market only for some reason; while the poker cams have their own tournaments for some decent guarantee’s and are well marketed, both of these formats got some good reviews on poker news sites when they were brought in So how about adding some team games at a slightly higher level (up to $5)? And a “team’s challenge” once a week? Could possibly be on a Tuesday at 19.30gmt as Tuesday is the high roller challenge Here’s a format and some reasoning Tuesdays 19.30gmt (18.30bst) Buy in $9+$0.90 split $6 to main prize-pool $3 to team prize-pool £3000gtd split $2000 to main prize-pool, $1000 to team prize-pool 3000 starting chips, 10 min blinds, (freezeout) 40-60 mins late registration Splitting the pools 2/3-1/3 makes the main game attractive and still makes the team pool worthwhile, setting the buy in to $9 makes splitting the buy in easier, with a little over 300 players the game is break even and most of the challenges get between 500-800 entries, with the exception of the Tuesday challenge, maybe there’s a raft of players looking for a cheaper option for a well formatted game on a Tuesday night? 334 players is break even so I’ll work with that figure, luckily the teams are split perfectly evenly with 167 players on each team (strange how that happened) this means 334 players are playing for a pool of $2000 and 167 of them are going to get a share of an extra $1000 ($5.98) so half of the players are guaranteed 2/3’s of their buy in back and 40 players are going to get a share of $2000, they are attractive figures You can run sats during the week at small stakes, either 1 sat for team “A” and 1 sat for team “B” or a single sat with the odd number qualifiers (1, 3, 5 etc) going into team “A” and the even number qualifiers going into team “B” Something to think about to promote a format that got some excited write ups when it was announced

Maybe I'd be the only person who would play it then?

Thanks Wiggy!
I'll pass your idea on to the PKRMGR. However, because of the nature of TEAM tournaments, there is no way to do satellites at the moment. However, higher buy-in tournies are not out of the question.
Let's see what happens...

Maybe juggle the figures a bit so that you are not playing for less than the buy in per winning team member?
Post, then make another post and then post even more.

Maybe juggle the figures a bit so that you are not playing for less than the buy in per winning team member?
But that would dilute the prizes for the main game and I think I was looking at these types of games differently, using the above proposal I see 2 tournaments, 1 is a main game $6.60 buy in for $2000gtd, the other is a team tournament $3.30 for $1000gtd, even though they will play as 1 tournament there are 2 prizepools so you have 2 buy ins and 2 chances to win money from one of the pots
So technically if the game played out exactly as described in the proposal, absolutely break even with perfectly matched team numbers! a return of $5.98 is equal to nearly doubling your buy in for the team part of the tournament, and if you shove first hand and go out but your team goes on to win you will have 2/3'ds of your entire buy in back for being a plonker/unlucky
I don't think you get your entire buy in back the way team games are set up at the moment, but I could be wrong as I stopped playing them when it became clear they were aimed at the $1 market
Here's something for the poker manager to consider taken from todays lobby Tournament ID 41093267 $1500gtd deep stack, buy in $5.50 players 365 and this isn't a peak period
So double the guarantee for less than double the buy in at a peak period promoting a format that has great potential? it could just work

you are not wrong , you only get back a small % of your buy in about 1/3 I believe not much , but something and it makes you try harder to break the bubble which is what you should be doing anyways.

earlier times i played few of the teamgames, now its only the forum one i am playing. i realy like this kind of teamcompetition but in the "normal" teamgames there isnt anyone playing for his/her team. and what is more anoying me is the "late registration" always (i have to say that i dont like late registration, of course i try to take advantage out of it in games like the qualifiers for SS). special in a teamgame everyone should know where the team stands. its not normal that your team started with maybe 50 players and is on the winning side to share a price of lets say 100$, than another 100 players are joining your winning team last minute. so as long as there is this late registartion in that games its a nono for me, doesnt matter if its with higher buyins or not.

I have to agree about the late reg . As in real games if the team is not on the playing field at game start they forfeit and are out of the competition , so late reg should not exist here.
