Last night on a Freeroll I went all in with 8's and got called by aces. Luckily I hit an 8 and won the pot. The player then called me a "pidar" which I have looked up before and found out that it is an extremely offensive word from the Eastern Block. I was shaking in anger that this player was allowed to freely express himself and to see half my reply to that was ******* out!
Why are non English speaking people allowed to do this, is this some left wing bullseye idea or right wing intimidation to stir up violence, as I live near loads of eastern blockers and would have gladly gone to dish some pain out on them. Strange, because I started that Freeroll to play and learn more about the game I love rather than spend the night barking right wing rhetoric!

Still when I feel like doing these things... I never will, but when I feel like doing these thing....others do!!
God bless you 888 Poker, good luck with that one.

You need to calm down and not worry about what people are saying in the chat. People can say whatever they want. Just play your game and ignore it. It's really not that big a deal. If you're that easily offended, you should probably stay off the internet.

Sorry guys I must have projected the wrong image, I'm not offended by whats said, I'm offended that I get my verbal retaliation blocked whilst non english speakers get their abuse...erm... unblocked!
The player does'nt bother me in the slightest. Hope you get my drift.

I agree that it is insulting to get called names and it does put me off my game.  I figure out that this is probably why the other players use that tactic.

So I just ignore all chat (I used to just turn it off and have not looked at the new upgrade to see if I can still do that).  Anyway, ignoring the chat improved my game.  I recommend it.  Poker is seldom a social game when played on line but the my888 group seem to have much better manners so keep an eye out for community games.

after ten years playing here i have to say there is nothing in the chat box that hasn't been typed before. from your mum and your sister getting various diseases to your life expectency. i personaly turn chat off. you will learn nothing from a keyboard warrior. although i did once shit one of them up by googling his poker name only to find he'd filled in his name and adress on another forum. i told him his name and the street he lived on. he was very appologetic.

Having read you original post its pretty clear that you aren't complaining about the abuse, just the fact that 888 don't allow it in English but you can swear in another language.  To test out the theory I typed in a foreign swear word on an empty table I was on, and it showed.  I just block any person who uses abusive language and write vile on their tag!  That way I can see them immediately when I am looking to sit on a table!  Disable their chat.  And the sad thing it seems to be very common among some of the "nations" on here.  And its not acceptable that players can say anything they want!  When I've won pots I've had said "hope a big black N   R rapes you", amongst many other things, to me.  I've just learnt to block table chat now unless its a forum game. Just because its on the net does not make it acceptable.  No one would like it if it was said to your face.  Just imagine the outcry if sat on a live table in the World series, and people started coming out with some of the disgraceful filth.  Makes you wonder what sort of parents bought up these people

I cant see why your getting so wound up about this just right click his/her name and block chat, simple.  In the end players like this one are losing players resorting to desperate measures.  Like any bully if you reply your feeding them so just block their chat and enjoy taking their money and you will have the last laugh.  Why has racism infected football over the last few years?.  Because a well known british broadcaster loves to make massive stories and by keeping it in peoples minds others copy it to get attention.  Dani Alves was correct when he said if the media didnt make a deal of the incident involving him it would just go away.
