So Lineaker is HAPPY with this news (juding by his tweet) as are UEFA as they get a big wedge of cash from BT Sport to line their pockets.

Weren't we just talking about how it's pretty much ALL down to money thesedays Cry

The Honour, the Glory & FOR the Fans? well forget that now!

What is still the people's favourite sport in this country (the UK) is only available to see as highlights on MOTD (that's always been good & continues to be so, although not a fan of Phil Neville) for the Premiership but no LIVE Games for god knows how long now on terrestial Tv?

Ok we get the FA Cup Live & i'm still of that generation that was thrilled by FA CUP matches & Giant Killings (athough the clubs have other ideas...with weakened teams) & now we've not only lost live Champions League games but the highlights package has now gone too.

GREAT....THANKS UEFA, does this happen in France? German? Italy? & Spain? i bet it don't?

Watch the interest in this competition dwindle as too will the World Cup when that finally goes to SKY for only those that can afford it.

SHAMEFUL.

To be honest I cancelled my sky sports 4 years ago as wasn't going to pay what they wanted to increase it by and not really bothered with football since. As most of the players now days are over payed egotistical modicodaled softies who would never survive when football was a proper game.

As soon as English football sold out to sky it was never going to be the same, was only ever going to be about the money not the game itself. Players value is not about their ability but how much merchandise they can sell. What was it Real recovered the cost of David Beckham in the 1st month just on shirt sales alone. enough said

Only just seen this.

The money thats needed now to watch these games is a joke.
Years ago when i was introduced it was the 1982-83 season and i went to my 1st game when Chelsea were in the old division 2 and we played Charlton and i remember us winning that game and from then i always wanted to go and watch football.
For many years i went to go up and down the country standing up in the terraces it was always a great Saturday something i always looked forward to. And this was a time when Chelsea didnt win much. ( mind you it could have been worse i could have ended up a West ham fan, luckily i chose the sensible side of the familiy lol ).

My how its all changed now the fans, grounds, eveything is differnt. The costs for the average fan now if hes taking 1 son or daughter with him is going to be about £100 by the time you have got tickets programe and a pie and pint. Thats a lot of money. The premiership has got greedy.
Now our local club to where i live Brentford the pice for me and my son is over half the price and its  like the old days standing in the terraces and its a good old club that i have a soft spot for.

I understand how clubs run there is so much money to be made from TV etc. Luckily there are many sites out there now where we can watch the games for free, you just have to turn the volume down as you wont understand the commentary. I dont think they will take MOTD away from us as that would cause a riot lol.

BT sport is free with BT broardband, why not just change your internet provider. you'll probably get a good deal for the first 12  months

ALL good points & one's i can agree with, although grumpy BT SPORT will surely eventually make you pay for it? it's just a matter of time after that huge investment.

It's such a SHAME really.

As i understand it? FOOTBALL is still this nation's favourite Sport & yet we get NO live Premiership Games & yes slim whilst we still get the highlights on the still brilliant MOTD (sans Neville) it's NOT set in stone...remember when it went to ITV? thankfully it's back with the Beeb as are a good number of the live FA Cup Games which i still enjoy (this Monday should prove to be of great interest with Mourinho returning to Chelsea with his Manchester United side in the final of the four QF's and this should reel in a good number of viewers?)

So this is good but i do remember a time when ITV had live Premiership football as well as live Champions League matches (sometimes two in the same week wasn't it?) now soon to be NOTHING? ok BT SPORT may elect to show some highlights available on the web at a time that suits them (midnight) BIG DEAL.

Oh we do get LIVE ENGLAND games again which is good (i'm one of those few that still loves supporting our home nation & not simply taking my club over country...I LOVE BOTH & perhaps if more players did so we might just win something with them again?) & just about every game in the EURO's & WORLD CUP's is still available on ITV or BBC which is good but it's only a matter of time before greed rears it's ugly head again & this too gets split up & offered to BT or SKY or both? Cry something UEFA & FIFA in the long run may end up regretting as audiences willing to pay for these dwindles?

Maybe then it will come full circle & return to the real fans who dreamed of glory all those years ago when placing their jumpers down as goalposts Smile and hammering in that winning goal past their mate in goal whilst shouting KEEGAN.

I do wonder if one day the BBC & ITV might just take on these two giants to regain the rights to either the Premiership or Champions League? but if i'm being honest they are now probably lost forever now Cry
