This is ALWAYS a 'BIG' match for we ENGLISH probably due to HISTORIC reasons.

But also because we (ENGLAND) have a tendency to somehow LOSE to them in the BIG TOURNAMENTS (EURO's & WORLD CUP's) after having played the better match, it going to Extra Time & somehow not scoring the goal we should have & deserved...and then Smile losing on PENALTIES to them!

I knew up to a few years ago ENGLAND had one of (if not THE) BEST head to head's against GERMANY (which some might be surprised to read?)

1st ENGLAND v GERMANY match was way back in 1930 & ended in a 3-3 draw.

Since then...

Germany have WON 15
ENGLAND have WON 13
DRAWN only 3 (where no concluding result was required)

Although of course 2 of Germany's 15 wins go down to the EPIC FOOTBALLING ENCOUNTERS in the 1990's...

During ITALIA '90 England & Gazza outplayed the German side yet after drawing 1-1 we LOST to them on PENALTIES, there now follows my GAZZA impresssion Cry we ALL felt for him but in the end it didn't matter.

Then in EURO '96 & on HOME ground they again beat us on PENALTIES after we (yet again) outplayed them, game ended 1-1, i really wish GAZZA would have put an extra size boot on Smile that is how close he was to getting that Extra Time goal Cry

No doubts about it...they could TAKE GOOD PENALTIES back then but had there been any JUSTICE England would have won BOTH these SEMI-FINAL encounters & more than likely would have gone on to win both...ARGGHHH ENGLAND Football History would read so different!
2 WORLD CUP Wins (1 away) plus a HOME EURO's win...instead, amazingly still awaiting another major senior win.

GREAT to see the ENGLAND UNDER (you name it's) WINNING this that & the other.
THAT U-17 comeback against a VERY GOOD Spain was EXCEPTIONAL & TOTALLY ENTERTAINING & even though 0-2 down they showed NO FEAR...let's HOPE the seniors will learn from them.

Even the ENGLAND WOMEN are shaming the SENIORS right now.

So Southgate to PLAY a STRONG TEAM here? or next?
I expect him to play a STRONG TEAM against Germany here as it's probably more important to us? and it would be nice to close that gap to Germany 15 wins & should we win ENGLAND 14?

Rest the so called bigger names for the game after & let these promising YOUNGSTERS of the LEASH for the one after this.

I'm optimistic for ENGLAND.
Any International side with ALLI & KANE & STERLING on the form he's currently on are a HUGE THREAT.

I'll go for a prediction of 2-0 to ENGLAND here.

And seriously...i think you can get something like 20-1 with some betting companies for ENGLAND to WIN the WORLD CUP...would love to see them go for it in RUSSIA (like the Under 17's) & win it in style but they still might win it playing tight (like Portugal did the Euro's & if THEY CAN DO IT!!!! England certainly can)
Get your bets on now...not bad odds.
£1 wins ya £20
£5 wins £100

Don't think you'll get better than 20-1? but if you do snap it up.

I'll see how these friendlies, if they lose might get slightly better odds?
But seriously who else can win the WORLD CUP next year?
Realistically perhaps 8? ENGLAND are one of those surely?

Damn it's about time we at least have a good run...nothing to shout about since the 1990's!!!

LOOKS like we shall see the YOUNGSTERS & those on the FRINGE of things sooner than we thought.

This ENGLAND SQUAD has picked up PLENTY of INJURIES.

But with KANE & ALLI out & who knows who else before kick-off can we still beat GERMANY on Friday night?

Just heard the odds on an ENGLAND win & i think GERMANY have gone Favourites for the game.

Still, with these youngsters might they play FREE & with NO FEAR as the Under 17's did?

I said 2-0 Smile

I should change that, especially if Germany turn out a decent side?

But i think i'll still go for ENGLAND...youngsters OR not, change the result to 1-0 or 2-1 i think.

This really is looking like an ENGLAND B Side vs a GERMANY side at full strength? or close to.

ENGLAND's Defence looks GOOD & SOLID (and will probably need to be)
In MIDFIELD & UPFRONT it looks like it will look something like...

Dier, Maguire? Loftus-Cheek? & Lingard with probably Rashford & Vardy up front? although he might be tempted to start with Abraham upfront with Rashford? i have no problem with that!

But compare that with the likes of GERMANY's MIDFIELD / STRIKEFORCE of...

Kroos, Ozil, Sane, Draxler & Werner, Wagner.

B-SIDE or not i would like to think (especially this being a FRIENDLY Wink against Germany) that ENGLAND & these youngsters would GO FOR IT...they have NOTHING to FEAR as most of these are unlikely to go to the WORLD CUP (as is)
So go CHANGE the manager's mind & try to book your seat on next years plane to Russia.

Hope England do go for it & hope we win, GERMANY (on paper if anything like this side) SHOULD win but i have a sneaky feeling now for a 1-1?
