OK GERMANY were also missing MUELLER (a super player) but they put out a far stronger TEAM than England & on paper SHOULD have won.

In REALITY it could be said (especially at the end there) that it was ENGLAND that should have WON it.

I think ENGLAND edged the match considering who they put out on the pitch.
So many players missing but those that were brought in ARE to be COMMENDED.
Loftus Cheek EXCELLENT although i would have given the MOT award to DIER myself.
Abraham did well, a few passes misplaced but generally you have to say he showed promise.

This is very ENCOURAGING.

You could do WORSE than having a small bet on ENGLAND to win THE WORLD CUP.

I have a FUNNY FEELING about them...the younger teams winning WORLDS & EURO's, the WOMEN going close to winning, surely it's time for ENGLAND to come good again on the INTERNATIONAL STAGE?

I fancy us to go CLOSE...even the temperatures will be PERFECT for us! Laughing

Oh & i predicted right Smile WHAT? Innocent this despite the RESERVE like look to this ENGLISH Team, not a bad prediction i think?

An interesting result tonight was the WORLD CUP QUALIFER with...

SWEDEN 1 ITALY 0

I noticed that ITALY were favourites in the betting which had me curious when you take into account each of SWEDEN's & ITALY's group games & match opponents...i went with a draw on that one.

GREAT RESULT for SWEDEN & every chance of making it to the WORLD CUP.

Italy don't seem to score many (21 goals from 10 games) but when you consider that their group consisted of SPAIN (they won clearly & are BACK in FORM) and the rest were...
ALBANIA, ISRAEL, MACEDONIA & LIECHTENSTEIN you have to wonder might they fail to make it?

I think if SWEDEN can manage 1 goal in ITALY that may be enough!
INTERESTING.

NOW come oN REPLUBLIC.

Fair play to Southgate who I have said in the past isnt my favourite manager but I like managers who give younger players a chance and its about time that somebody did something different other than play it safe with the regular old heads.  England will be better for it in my opinion so well done Mr Southgate.

As for Northern Ireland the ref/linesman whichever made that call should be locked up because there is no justification to give a penalty there.  Brown envolope before the game I reckon bit like Paris 2010.

That's OK John, i can go missing for days & weeks on end sometimes...

Ya post when you post...always interesting reading what you have to say.

Yeah Southgate would not have been my choice either but we are lacking in ENGLISH Managers at this moment in time & he did do well with the U-21's not too long ago so he knows many of these young guys...so i agree with you, give 'em a go & why not stick with them for the Tuesday Brazil game after doing so well against a stronger Germany side (on paper)

Perhaps mix things up a bit...add a few new one's in there, i'm with you here!
Make the competition to get into that squad of 22? or 24? is it? more difficult for those that think they're safe.

I really do have a GUT feeling for ENGLAND next year...but it will depend on a bit of luck & keeping the three of KANE, ALLI & STERLING fit & in good form (Sterling has noticably come on with GUARDIOLA's help)

Yeah the Northern Ireland result bugged me BIG TIME, they didn't play well & if truth be told Switzerland did deserve to win it BUT NOT like THAT...shameful, another awful refreeing decision that could cost us a place in Russia.

Surely it can't happen again to the Republic?
Would settle for a scoring draw (i think it might be 1-1?) but i even have a sneaky feeling that the Republic might edge it with a 2-1 away win? HOPE SO.

We got to get one of our Irish teams in the WORLD CUP, preferably BOTH of them.
