THAT took some getting over!

Yes we will still win the PREMIERSHIP (not sure it will be against Spurs though?) but it's not been done in the way we (CITY fans) would have liked.

This follows on from a despearately disapointing result at Anfield in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

It seems even though CITY have played some of the best attacking football we've seen in a good while we are ending the season poorly.

Beaten & OUT away to WIGAN in the FA CUP.

Beaten by LIVERPOOL in the 1st Leg of the Champions League (credit to Liverpool, tactics were spot on)

And now Beaten by MANCHESTER UNITED when we could have won the Premiership against our rivals (will never get that chance again!)
Reds fans will have rejoiced in that victory (2-0 down & somehow won it 2-3) again City should have been OUT OF SIGHT, the radio commentator said we should have been 5 or 6-0 up at half time!
Will give some credit to Mourinho here (it probably won't happen again!) & the United stuck with it...they still only had 4 attempts on goal, scoring with 3 of them (many coming from dead ball situations too i noticed)

A bit of sour grapes i suppose...has taken me a good few days to get over this one.

You get a chance to get to be in a SEMI FINAL of the FA CUP & don't take it.
You hope & expect to still be in with a decent chance of the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL & blow it! (probably)
And THEN you get a chance to give your FANS a moment to cherish forever & somehow it goes against you...LOVED the passion of VINCENT KOMPANY though, still scratching my head over just how United did it?
Should we give United more credit than most do as Mourinho said? perhaps, they are a team in 2nd place of the Premiership & in an FA Cup semi final so there not too bad but compared to CITY they are miles away!
And in no way were they the better side at the EITHAD this day...BUT THAT'S FOOTBALL & it's why i LOVE IT.

We've won the MILK CUP (LEAGUE CUP) OR whatever it's now called? CUP (Hope Pep having won that one now will PLAY ALL HIS YOUNG UPCOMING players in that comp from now on?)
And we will win the PREMIERSHIP probably against Swansea?

But it's clear the SHINE has come off CITY at just the moment we (City fans) should be HAPPY & SMILING...Arghhh, how strange!

PERHAPS...just perhaps? CITY will provide one of the ALL-TIME FOOTBALLING Comebacks?

It will need to be for i expect Liverpool to do something we couldn't (score at least 1 goal in the away leg) if they do this? CITY would need to score 5 to go through, amazingly, i don't think it out of the question but it is unlikely.

I suppose the Team picking up the Premiership Trophy will bring a smile to my face but right now (amazingly) many of us are down in the dumps somewhat.

Got to LOVE Football though & the DRAMA of it ALL.

Im sick of pundits and everyone on radio going on and on about the alledged crisis at Man City.  They lost to a top class Liverpool team who will be the ones challenging City next season if they sign a top Keeper and one more top midfielder or striker.

The defeat to Utd was irrelevant and as you mentioned Paul the game should have been over at half time.  I cant believe Im defending and giving credit to the two clubs that are my clubs biggest rivals but I am a realist and above all a football fan.

City Play great football and will win the league and have another crack at the CL next season.  Utd are being stifled under Mourinho and Saturday proved it.  They can play when he lets them and when UTD got it back to 2-2 the leash was put back on.  The third goal came from a horrendous City error when they had the ball.  If City had of hammered UTD I wonder what the reaction from Utd would have been so maybe its not such a bad thing from a City point of view.

Back to City there is no crisis and Guardiola has no questions to answer for the season they have had.  No manager will be able to spend time at a Club like Fergie or Wenger anymore because of this trial by media that goes on these days.  I hope Liverpool do the premier league proud and go on and win it now and with their recent defensive improvement they have every chance.

One final comment,  Just imagine the reaction in Barcelona today.  I would say they are probably going to be in shock for a week.

Much RESPECT to you John.
I think your always fair & balanced in your praise & criticsm.

Agree with everything here.

As for Liverpool...yes your a United fan & i'm a City fan but as you mentioned we're FOOTBALL FANS too, i don't hate United or Liverpool & like you i shall be cheering on the POOL to win another Champions League Final & like you i think they have every chance.

Another striker & midfielder (to replace Coutinho...they've done well without him but i still think they need another in this mould & Marez from Leicester might fit the bill?) added to a better GK (forgot about this John) and Tom Heaton (from Burnley who through injury lost his place to Pope) would fit the bill nicely.

BTW how about BURNLEY? a spectacularly GOOD season, a good amount of hard working, no nonsense Irish players & manager (Dyche) who for me would be on the shortlist of manager's of the season.

As for CITY?
Well i've had my moans Innocent i know i shouldn't, i remember WHERE we came from back in the 1980's & 90's but it's just the way the season has ended for us...had great hopes of featuring in another FA CUP final (rather than Milk cup, league cup, whateverthehell it's called cup now! Laughing) blew it, we have the knack of sometimes playing well but losing.
Champions League? it was always going to be tight against the POOL, they're steadily improving under KLOPP so yeah your right no disgrace losing to them but it's the way we did so! then again i think Klopp was spot on with his tactics!
Premiership when we win it will raise a smile & lift the soul but you can understand how disappointing that day against United was...it's a once in a lifetime chance to beat your neighbours on your own turf & again they blew it!

Not worried...we have the funds, the manager has form (despite struggling in the Champions League with Bayern & now City) & we have bought some super young players but clearly it's been a busy, hectic season for them & perhaps it's just that it caught up with them?

I wouldn't be against seeing United in another FA CUP FINAL despite Mourinho but if i'm being honest i'm a huge fan of HARRY KANE's, he conducts himself well on & off the field, NEVER seems to cheat & is an overall excellent striker...can hold the ball up superbly, can provide chances, scores great goals (far & wide, long & short) & is a header of the ball.
I actually hope Guardy puts in an offer for him Innocent sorry Spurs fans, oh and i do think he'll have a massive say in England possibly winning the WORLD CUP...so i'd like to see Spurs make the final perhaps against SOUTHAMPTON (who may? SHOCK Chelsea to get there?)

Then again it could be another UNITED vs SAINTS final?

As for Pundits well where would be without them & their opinions? i love 'em, it's FUN although i'm with you about some of those fans on radio!!!! gezzz they really have no clue!
Those same fans who phoned up complaining they were 1-0 at City at HT probably phoned up to say how delighted they were at getting through...KLOPP played a blinder there & as you know i'm not a defensive game fan (but can appreciate it when put to good use as he did here in both legs actually...impressive but i hope they avoid REAL)

History bodes well for Southampton getting to the final as we have seen it a few times where a club in dire trouble in the league goes to wembley.  Wigan and Hull come to mind and I hope they stay up as I like the club and the way they bring young talent through but they are an example of whats wrong with football.  They bring this talent through but dont really get the full benefit in a playing sense because they get sold to other clubs.  The purse must be bulging at Southampton with all the big money sales but they could still be a Championship club next season which is really sad for football.

I would like to see Spurs win the cup too and this Spurs team deserves to win something.  Spurs need investment in the summer but I cant see Levy doing too much with this new stadium in the works so interesting year ahead for Spurs.

Your spot on about Burnley its unbelievable how they have tranformed their game.  I said to my bro at the end of last season that they could be so much safer if they show more initiative away from home but I only expected them to be safe going into the last few weeks not where they are now.

Arsenal should be on edge after what happened to Barca and nearly Real.  Most entertaining CL season to watch in years in my opinion.  Hope Arsenal do it and make it 5 teams in Europes top Comp again.

I'll start with ARSENAL.

You were right to signpost possible problems over in Russia for them, Roy Keane was right!
It was a hopeless performance, saved in no small way thanks to Welbeck really, i did think he was a little harsh over Jack Wilshire though...fair do's if he's never rated him but i've thought he was a talent that could (a big COULD i know) have become Arsenal's answer to Inestia...he was heading there until a series of BAD injuries, felt for the kid but facts are facts! so in that respect Keane is correct (he has not scored as many goals or created enough chances after these injuries)

I had great hopes for Jack Wilshire but he looks like being one of those players that just never quiet reached his potential (down to the injuries for me...what might he have become for Arsenal & ENGLAND) would i take him to the WORLD CUP? tricky one at this stage but if being honest i'd sadly have to say NO now with the likes of OXO coming into the frame.

FA CUP.
I know you'll want United there in the FINAL (even with Mourinho in charge) so it was very interesting to read you didn't mind too much if Spurs made it & won the thing.
Agree about Levy & the Stadium...a bit of the Arsenal about them in those regards.

BURNLEY.
Superb.
Everything i like about football...a smaller side reaching the PROMISED LAND, over-achieving, raking in the cash but being careful about it, should set them up for decades.
Good hard working players, super defence & a manager going places but i hope not.
I had no real concerns about them going down this season because of their home form but Dyche clearly has gone for it a little more away from home this season & JUST LOOK where they are now because of it?
Would LOVE to see Burnley make the EUROPA scene & it's possible.

Yeah i too have a soft spot for SOUTHAMPTON & i think they'll rest players like Chelsea a week before this tie (risky i know..some would take issue with that? but i think they will) & then try to set up against Chelsea as Wigan brilliantly did against City (i haven't forgotten how well they defended against City that day!)
Fingers crossed it's a SOUTHAMPTON v SPURS or UNITED final.
I'm actually old enough to remember & witness Mick Channon play for both Southampton & Manchester City...his spiral celebration was very different & FUN...something i miss a little.

BIG DRAWS for both ARSENAL & LIVERPOOL tomorrow...
Not convinced we'll see Arsenal in the EUROPA final whoever they get...but LIVERPOOL? i really don't think they'll care who they get but i'd like to see 'em get ROMA or BAYERN in the semi but if it's REAL MADRID i'm sure KLOPP will have a plan for him.
