I'm not a huge HORSE RACING Fan in that i do not usually bet & watch it every day.

But i do LOVE the Festivals & Specials...

The likes of CHELTENHAM (currently running), The GRAND NATIONAL (next month), THE DERBY and ROYAL ASCOT all make for FUN Viewing (and i really do enjoy ITV's coverage & the chance at winning the free to enter ITV 7 competiton)

So looking forward to THE GRAND NATIONAL as it seems most of the British public do, making a day of it with FOOD, DRINK, SWEEPSTAKES, GAMES & of course watching the racing & BETTING with hope of finding the magic winner.

But for now we're loving CHELTENHAM.

the soft/heavy ground is making things even more interesting this year with many a favourite losing out which is making finding a winner rather difficult.

DAY 1...
Had 2 x 2nd's, a 3rd & a race in which i had 2 horses of which one fell at the hurdle but this one brought down my other horse behind it (ORUHA think it was called?) such BAD LUCK, my bets never got of the ground with these two.

DAY 2...
Picked 2 winners in ALTIOR & TIGER ROLL but if we're being honest these were not too difficult to pick out were they? with one many odds on & the other off at 5/4 favourite so your not gonna get rich with these two.
Had a HARD LUCK STORY with the 2.50 in which i had shortlisted WILLIAM HENRY based on his previous Cheltenham form but in the end after having a shortlist of 4 for the race i bet on the others & passed on HENRY...Arghhh....28-1 winner, one of my two picks was Brio Conti who fiished 4th (not bad out of 25 but had it to win so NO MONEY WIN)

Onto DAY 3...Tomorrow (Thursday)
Looks to be just as difficult to pick a winner.
I'm not a favourite backer & that might be just as well here at Cheltenham with the going said to be SOFT to HEAVY in places.

So a few tips for anyone reading (athough i'm doing ok in getting horses getting up close to winning i currently have no long shot paying out for me...nearly though) so in the first at
1.30 LOST IN TRANSLATION should go well but at 3-1 i can't & won't back it which brings me to VINNDICATION (you'd think Vin Diesel would love this horse) at 9-1 it has GREAT FORM but as i'm an outside backer i've gone for CAPELAND at 25-1 form reads 112122 :) every chance even at those odds that it places in the top 3? but we'll see?

Big field of 24 so good luck winning this one!
In fields this BIG it really does pay to swerve the FAVOURITE/S and go for something with good form & at a Big price...what ticks the Box for this race?
I have 2 tips for you here...
FIRST ASSIGNMENT i strongly fancy with form of 13-1133, a Course & Distance winner previously & the ground should fine for it & at 10-1 i would expect this price to shorten?
Only 10 in this Race.
So why not have a 2nd horse and you could worse than...
CULTURE DE SIVOLA, form reads 11-3155 and at 33-1 it's a no brainer, smallish bet that could pay big.

FOOTPAD for me

PAISLEY PARK will go off as strong Favourite (and perhaps rightly?)
It's form reads 20-1111 so that's four in a row!!! but ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END & i think here at the CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL i think it will find at least 1 of the 18 runners too good for it...but which one?
Well i have 2, first up my main pick in KILBRICKEN STORM 1313-16...forget the 6 & read more into the form before this (especially here at CHELTENHAM where it has won) it's 10-1 & has every chance of upsetting Paisley Park who's winning streak will end one day & i'm banking on it being today.
Another for consideration as a back up (saver bet) TOP NOTCH 1141-31 at 14-1.

Final Race to be shown live on TV is the 4.10.

Again i have two horses on my shortlist from a whopping 24 to agsin good winning this one, recommend you give the favourites a miss although having said that one of my picks here is at 6-1 and is SIRUH DULAC whose form reads 113-111 so it don't get much better than this & although there is a whopping 24 horses in this race i feel it still has much going for it, might find a few better than it but if your on this you should expect it to be at least in the frame come the end?

Same race & second choice is for KINGS ODYSSEY who has been very unlucky of late but this is a horse that has come close in big fields numerous times so it's DUE ONE, might this be it? form around Cheltenham is very good.
Form reads 333-2F6 but don't let that put you off as many of these placed efforrts were among large races, odds of 25-1 should tempt many (including myself)
Perhaps one for the EACH WAY backer? but don't be too surprised if this one does finally get it's reward in the form of a win.

Just a few thoughts.

Hope if you choose any of them it comes in for you.

An Amazing 1st day with favourites falling (at the last fence / hurdle) but a highlight was seeing MATT CHAPMAN falling whilst trying to leap over the stands Smile
