Maybe someone could be so kind to create a new thread stating helpful hints for travel and logging arrangements. Me, being someone who would travel from Germany, would be looking for a cheap hotel (to share?) or a hostel - locals might have some helpful ideas?!

For those travelling from outside the uk and flying into Birmingham International Airport, this is the way I travelled going to & from from the August one.
As my flights were delayed travelling to Birmingham I arrived so late (after midnight & was travelling alone) I had no option but to get a taxi from the airport to the Hampton by Hilton hotel. All I can say is DO NOT GET A TAXI - worked out at £36 - very very expensive.
Get the train from B'ham Airport to B'ham New Street, then get 2nd train to Aston. When you come out of train station at Aston turn left. Walk up to the road till you come to large junction (T junction) and take a right up and over the bridge. It's a straight walk over a 2nd smaller bridge then u will see the casino over on ur left hand side. Stay on the road and hotel is then up a small bit on ur right hand side. Train journey costs about £4 total
There is a small gate on the corner of the hotel grounds and if u just press the buzzer the receptionist will give u the code to enter.
