Hey Sean i take it my 6660 leaderboard points will still be added seeing as they are for the games already played/won ? To be honest although i love you, i think seeing as only 9 people had seats the email should have been 1st thing done, instead of finding out via pop up message on 888,but wp for reimbursing travel exspenses I was looking foward to this 1 the Irish/Dublin game was def best for party @ venue

Agree with the email issue Bill but also have to say once Sean was involved with sorting out the aftermath it was all dealt with quickly and smoothly. WD Sean. Would still like to be having the party tho :(

sean would this have anything to do with how badly the dublin one ran. it was my first superstack event to attend and whereas i loved the experience i could see from a mile off that it was run badly and a real mickey mouse job in my opinion. The advertising for these events is slim to none, i have to go looking to find out whats going on with them most of the time. Also another big issue i had was the fact that 888 had stated before the game that only 888 players could play this. But on the day, i had four people on my table who had never played 888 in their lives and were having to register for an account that day in order to play... now where is the sense in that. the event really didnt need two x 1 days there wasnt anywhere near enough people for that to be done and i'm sure everyone would have liked to have been able to see all the day 1's/ or 2's even if they'd been knocked out.
in my opinion 888 should have done miles better. its the up and coming major site worldwide, you cant on most days route through google without 888 headlining something for advertsising,,, soooo why are their live events like an event run at a local pub.
Cancelling galway has i'm sure caused an awful upset and it really has let 888 players down, and at the end of the day what is 888 without its players... just a software... so it really needs to be as good as it poses to be.
Rant over have a good day :)

As I stated above, there were some logistical/opeartional issues that caused us to cancel the event. We are working to establish future events in Ireland as we recognise it as an important market which fits in with our strategy.
We are sorry that we have disappointed you in this instance; however we remain hopeful that we will have an event in Ireland sooner rather than later. We will continue to push for this within the team and hope to have an announcement in this regard in the future.
Thank you for your continual support of the 888poker Super Stack events!

In regards to the leaderboard, I'll double check this with Alexa as this is within her remit.
In regards to the e-mail and the pop up, the pop up occurred as a direct (and automatic) result of the online holding tournament being cancelled; thus there was no way I would have been able to e-mail anyone before the pop up appeared.
Again, sorry for the disappointment; but we will hopefully have an event in Ireland again and you can look like this:

Love you too man!

Your right Sean things can go wrong and theres not much can be done,i was just bit disapointed seeing as Dublin was great social, the best 888/superstack fri/sat night party of any i've been to. To be fair i thought the Dublin game was very well ran,the people running it were top class no bad rulings and every one told b4 what was what plus very good dealers. What most locals were moaning about was the pre event advertising etc, a game like this in Dublin with no other big events on that weekend would normally sell out They got mixed message's about wether they could buy in,a post advertising game was withdrawn from the main Irish poker forum because they was told no buy in on day etc Having said that still over 100 players, personally i think any Irish games should be in City's with Airports rather than places like Galway,i've played Cork,Dublin and even Killarney (Kerry airport) all a lot easier to get to than Galway, and all capable of putting decent game on.

I agree with ya Bill, Dublin was run very well indeed with good manager & great dealers and of course good partying was had by all.
Like you I was sorely disappointed that it was cancelled but not a thing can be done now and hopefully Ireland will appear back on the Superstack venues really really soon

100% agree with D and Bills coments above although I get where Sarah is coming from also as this could have been an even bigger game with good advertising and buy ins on the day. The management of this game was fantastic. All rules and structure issues were discussed before the game and it was made clear how issues would be dealt with and their rules for dealing with non runners etc. Above all though the partying was immense and I am still getting over it nearly a month later. I for one really hope superstack and 888 can find a venue/venues for this to continue and hopefully up the advertising to encourage the extra players.
