Thanks for this Chris

As you can see from the chip stacks he had me well dominated from the get go.

I surprised myself as I went to the Final Table with the 2nd shortest chip stack so proud of the fact that I managed to make it to heads up

I did play well, shoved when I needed to shove except for 1 hand when blinds were 5k/10k with 3k ante. We were 8 handed and I was UTG and looked down to pocket 10's. I raise to 25k rather than shove as there were too many behind me and to me 10 10 are middle of the road. 2 callers - seat 9 & seat 2 (big blind).

Flop was 2 6 Q - big blind checked, I checked and seat 9 raised to 100k, Now I was calling the 100k as felt he was in seat position to raise and try rob the pot - except big blind (seat 2) shoved all in over 200k. I tanked for a bit then decided to fold thinking seat 2 was on a set of 2's or 6's.

They both turn their cards over and seat 9 has the Q but seat 2 had shoved on 45 looking for a middler to fill a straight.

Unfortunately for me there was a 10 on the turn and a 6 on the river which meant I would have filled a full house and knocked the 2 of them out or at least knocked one of them out and left the other in a bad position chip wise.

Next hand when I was big blind and everyone had folded around to small blind, seat 2 again and he shoved all in. This time when I looked I had KJos so said ah well I had him covered as he'd lost over 200k in previous hand. He turned over A7os. He hit his 7 on the flop but I turned the K and river was a blank. He's still going on about what a stupid call it was but going from the previous hand I thought he was tilting and turned out a good call for me.

When heads up the hand that knocked me out was as you said AA. I was big blind 30k and he raised to 100k. I looked down and had J9 hearts so I called to see the flop. Flop was JK3 with 2 hearts. He only bet 60k so I called. Turn was a K he again bet 60k and I called. River was 6 diamonds but this time he checked. I thought my J was good so I shoved all in. He actually swore and thought I had the K but eventually he called to show his AA and I was dead in the water.

Thoroughly great game and to come 2nd for a 5k guarantee which it actually surpassed, for 80 euro was a good pay day

Ooh and I also paid 10 euro when registering and won the last man/woman standing for a 230 euro ticket for the spring game at Easter

Great stuff D, I'm over the moon for you.  It was well worth visiting the forum today to read this.  Almost couldn't post though as I nearly didn't remember my login it's been that long since I posted.

I hope you take home a lovely easter egg at the next game too.  Well done!
