There have been a few hiccups along the way, as no event of this size can be expected to run perfectly, but as far as I can see, any issues have been dealt with fairly & professionally.
A special thanks to 888 as well, for supplying hats & shirts for everyone, for a fine buffet at the casino and they craziest idea of all, an open bar! We are not talking about 40+ tea sippers either, so 888 has proven (with Sean's urging) that they will step up to the plate.
For these reasons, I hope our forum members show their gratitude and urge others, to join our forum, to increase our numbers, so future events can be justified.
Now all the free goodies sound great, but if that is why you came, you totally missed the point. I have been a forum member for 4 years, in which time I have had the pleasure of meeting several other members, starting with Lambone & Rhysfat in Maidstone 2008, Deirdre, Vinnie, Sarah, Odhran in 2009 at the Irish Open.
Most of these people I have met are not only acquaintences, but have become very close friends and we try to get together once or twice a year.
Since then I have met many more of our forum members (Iwon't list them all). So this weekend to me, is very special as I can at least double the number of people that I have had the pleasure to meet.
These are a very diverse set of individuals, with different back-grounds & philosophies, so the banter has been, to say the least, colourful.
Well, I better get ready for our next event, I wouldn't miss it for anything. Off to home on Tuesday, Canada can't survive without us. cheers!
