And thus is the world

K...so i have never posted a blog in my entire life...ever.  Not in a poker forum, not in twitter, not at all.  I generally think everybody but me should keep their opinions to themselves and that most peoples rants are useless and though well meaning annoying as hell...you will probably think the same about mine...hahahaha

Just kidding I'm way cooler then being an assCool

So i've been playing on 888 for the last 8 months or so and before this I also never played online poker...for the life of me I do not know why.  Growing up poker and cards in general were commonplace and abundant in my numerous places of residence...I've always been semi nomadic.

When i was with my Mama there was always a game of cribbage, 31, five card call it, or even just simple solitaire in progress.  I remember wanting so bad to be able to play with the grown ups (as did the rest of the grandbrats).  As much as I wanted to be a grown up in those moments i really just wanted to spend as much time with the few people in my life who actually would continue to matter to me over the years...Mama, Lala, Joycee, Karen, Uncle Ronnie (he isn't blood but he is definately my family.  Eventually my God father and uncle Peter and his wife my other auntie Glenda moved home and they too gathered in the family fun.  I spent more time around the kitchen table watching them playing cards and sucking up all the attention a kid as cute as I was could possibly tolerate.  When the game wasn't at Mama's it was always happening somewhere...and when it was at Joycees I got to eat awesome chocolate chip cookies and tea until my round little heart was content...hehehe!

Then there was the semi regular call your game poker tournies at Nanny and Grampies house.  My aunts and uncles from my mothers family along with all the "old boys" (Grampies long time friends and respected members of our little community).  Again my kiddie equivalent sitting in Grampies comfy chair watching intently and learning through the hundreds of thousands of hands that passed through my sights the importance of knowing when to hold 'em and knowing when to fold em'.  A life lesson not just one in the art of cardplay.  My favourite part of those games besides the love and laughter shared around the table...and the friendly name calling...was the half time tea and sammich break.  I can't eat an egg salad sandwhich to this day with out thinking of those games.

So much time has elapsed since those days.  As us kids got older and joined the games so did the ones we loved and over the years one by one the "elders" began to pass leaving more of a mark on this world then they may have ever even known.  Teaching us with the stories shared how life can be and not only what to do but what NOT to do in certain situations.  Teaching us to recognize bullshit at its finest and how much affect we can make in our own worlds simply with our attitudes.  There hasnt been a card game shared the same at those tables in years but in my heart a deck of cards will always be a huge part of who I am and how I was shaped.  To me this is more then a game it is a way of life, a way to share, a way to hopefully help mould and shape, contribute positively to my fellow players.

Good luck, be responsible, and above all enjoy the interaction and human exchange.
